As I paint, I allow the divine to flow through me and on to the surface. My work is based on life experience, dreams, journals, and family history. Color, movement, and feelings are things that connect us all. I paint in acrylics and mixed media collage.

All of us are shaped by our pasts. When I paint it is a dreamlike experience of form and figure. It helps me realize that I am not alone in this universe. There is a bit of serendipity to my work, things that happen for a reason, a certain brush stroke, a color, or a piece of cloth, all are meant to be.

I have participated in many group exhibits in the New York City area. I am a member of the Long Island Black Artists Association. I have a BFA from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and have studied at The Art Student League in NYC. My artwork is featured on the cover of the book, “Notes to Make the Sound Come Right” Four Innovators of Jazz Poetry by T.J. Anderson III

I was an art teacher for grades Kindergarten through Junior High School for 5 years. I currently work as an Account Representative for Ricoh Copiers. My studio is in my home in Hollis, Queens.
